iQIYI-presented Shows The Ideal City and The Rebel Won the 33rd Flying Apsaras Awards
iQIYI-presented shows The Ideal City and The Rebel were announced on Nov. 1 as winners of the 33rd edition of the Flying Apsaras Awards, China's top award to recognize TV dramas excellence.

Both shows were hugely popular during their exclusive online premieres on iQIYI. Chronicling the professional and personal growth of a young woman, The Ideal City reached an iQIYI popularity index of over 8200 and, during its broadcast on Dragon TV, received a 10% rating. A story about patriotic youths, The Rebel reached an iQIYI popularity index of over 9100. The show also topped ratings ranking throughout its broadcast at TV stations.
In addition to the Award winners, five other iQIYI-presented dramas—Enemy, My Best Friend's Story, ACE TROOPS, A Love for Dilemma, and The Dragnet—were shortlisted for this year's Awards. SUN Li, the leading actress of The Ideal City and TONG Yao, the leading actress of The Rebel, received nominations for Best Actress.
The Flying Apsaras Awards, China TV Golden Eagle Awards, and the Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Awards are known as China's top three awards recognizing excellence in drama series. Flying Apsaras Awards is a biennial award ceremony that celebrates TV productions of the highest quality and promotes the continuous development of China's television industry. This year, a total of 46 titles were shortlisted for the Awards.
Seven iQIYI Productions Nominated for the 31st China TV Golden Eagle Awards
On Nov. 2, the China TV Golden Eagle Awards announced the nominations for its 31st edition, and seven iQIYI productions were featured. Six iQIYI-presented shows that stream exclusively on the platform—The Long Night, Enemy, The Rebel, A Lifelong Journey, A Love for Dilemma, and The Bad Kids—were nominated for Best TV Series, whereas Tough Out was nominated for Best TV Documentary.

10 iQIYI dramas and variety shows, including Left Right and The Detectives' Adventures, were shortlisted on Oct.17 for the 2022 "Golden Angel Award" of the Chinese American TV Festival (CATF).

A number of works from iQIYI have won international awards since the beginning of this year. In September, the iQIYI-presented film What Remains was selected for the International Competition of the 38th Warsaw International Film Festival. Meanwhile, three iQIYI original productions - drama The Pavilion, variety show Super Sketch Show and anime Luoyang - were nominated for a total of seven awards in the 4th Asia Contents Awards of the 2022 Busan International Film Festival.
iQIYI Releases Hello My Love under “Wildflowers Series,” Focusing on Experiences of Different Women
On Oct. 26, Hello My Love, the second instalment of iQIYI’s “Wildflowers Series,” premiered exclusively on the platform. The series tells the story of three protagonists of different ages and personalities facing difficult life situations. In the face of betrayal, deception, and traps, the women nonetheless persevered and, through sincerity and hard work, forged a good life for themselves.

As part of the “Wildflowers Series,” a new content collection focusing on the power of women, Hello My Love pioneers an innovative narrative approach that incorporates stand-up comedy into traditional drama. As the series chronicles the stories of three female characters in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, it sheds light on the various challenges faced by women today and a unique story of women empowerment.
The “Wildflowers Series” marks a true innovation in content development. It also drives the viewership increase of short drama series through its innovative scheduling. Going forward, the series will continue to offer a wide range of female stories, highlighting the power of women.
Tibetan Raiders Premiered on iQIYI Cloud Cinema, Taking Viewers on Tibetan Adventure
The action-adventure movie Tibetan Raiders was officially released on iQIYI under the platform’s Cloud Cinema Premiere model on Oct. 13. Adapted from an eponymous best-seller novel, the movie tells the story of an archaeological team embarking on a thrilling adventure in Tibet to uncover the relics of King Gesar. Inspired by Tibetan folklore, Tibetan Raiders presents the audience with the spectacular landscape and exquisite cultural heritage of Tibet.

The film gathered a top production crew, which included the visual effects studio that supported The Wandering Earth and ZHU Liyun (A Writer's Odyssey, Brotherhood of Blades), the winner of Best Editing at China Golden Rooster Awards as Editing Director.
iQIYI's The Long Night to be Aired on NHK, Marking the First Chinese Suspense Series Featured on NHK BS4K Channel
On Oct. 28, iQIYI and NHK, the Japanese public broadcaster, jointly announced that The Long Night will air on NHK BS4K channel on Dec. 18, marking the first Chinese suspense series chosen by the NHK for broadcasting and the first Chinese series to be featured on the NHK BS4K channel since its launch in 2018. In its press release, NHK indicated its excitement about The Long Night.

Since its inception, NHK has maintained high standards for the foreign-language content broadcasted on its channels, introducing only content of superior quality that features both artistic value and compelling plots. The release of The Long Night on NHK BS4K channel underscores the growing influence of Chinese premium suspense series, which has made a successful entry into the Japanese market.
Presented by iQIYI, The Long Night tells the story of a prosecutor who spends seven years searching for the truth in a perplexing case. The series became a massive hit quickly after its premiere, generating much discussion online and receiving both widespread popularity and rave reviews.
In recent years, iQIYI has strengthened its commitment to original content production and genre-based content development. Notably, the LIGHT ON has become a highly acclaimed brand for domestically produced suspense series. LIGHT ON productions—such as The Bad Kids and The Long Night—have been distributed in overseas markets such as Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia, demonstrating increased global traction for Chinese suspense content.
iQIYI Distributes The Examination for Everyone to Various Markets, Showcasing Spirit of Chinese Youth
The iQIYI-presented show The Examination for Everyone has been released in 191 countries and regions through iQIYI International, iQIYI APP, and IQ.COM. The show will also be broadcasted first in local stations across markets including Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, and Brunei.

The Examination for Everyone tells the story of a group of high school students preparing for “gaokao,” China’s national exam for university entrance, amidst pandemic- and natural disaster-related challenges. As the show chronicles the stories of seven students, their teachers, and families, it showcases the dynamism and determination of young people in China.

iQIYI Holds Second "iQIYI HACK DAY," Demonstrating Commitment to Tech-empowered Entertainment
iQIYI held its second iQIYI Hack Day competition from Sep.5 to Oct. 22, cementing iQIYI's commitment of tech-empowered entertainment. Themed "Launching the Future of Entertainment," this year's iQIYI Hack Day concluded just ahead of China's Programmers' Day on Oct. 24.
Compared to last year, this year's competition featured contenders from a wider range of iQIYI departments, which shows that strong technical talents are embedded across the company. The event has attracted the participation of 177 tech enthusiasts from within the company across the country who made up 44 project teams of various technical focus.
The iQIYI Hack Day is unique in that it requires all contestants to submit a specific product application or demo of their creative ideas, which potentially lead to real-life applications. The projects showcased a wide array of tech-empowered creative ideas.
